Senior Research Scientist – Biology

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Scientist in Biology to join our team focused on developing novel therapies for cancer patients. The ideal candidate will have a track record of using molecular and cell biology techniques to advance a drug candidate through the discovery and preclinical phase. The Scientist will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment to identify and develop breakthrough cancer therapies, with a deep commitment to advancing cancer research and translating scientific discoveries into clinical applications.

Description of Roles

1. Design and conduct cell and biochemical assays to profile small molecule compounds, target validation, drug lead selection, biomarker identification, and mechanism of action studies.
2. Conduct colony formation assays to evaluate stem cell viability and proliferation.
3. Work with other scientists to establish animal tumor models and test drug efficacy.
4. Manage project workflow, coordinate activities across biology and chemistry functions, and ensure projects on track and within scope.
5. Troubleshoot assays and analyze results to ensure high-quality and actionable data.

Qualifications and Experiences

Required Qualifications

1. PhD. in cancer biology, molecular biology, cell biology, oncology, pharmacology or a related field with a strong focus on drug discovery.
2. 5+ years of experience in animal models of cancer within pharmaceutical or biotech research.
3. Extensive expertise in cell and molecular biology techniques qPCR, DNA extraction, electrophoresis, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, western blotting, and metabolite profiling.
4. Strong data analysis skills with experience in biostatistics or bioinformatics tools, GraphPad Prism, FlowJo, and other commonly used software.
5. Demonstrated attention to detail. Strong self-direction.

Preferred Experience

1. Experience in hematopoietic stem cell biology and bone marrow malignancies.
2. Expertise in histopathology.
3. Extensive hands-on experience in IV, SC and IM injections and blood collection techniques with small laboratory animals.
